The Center for Emerging & Neglected Diseases, University of California, Berkley (CEND) held its 11th annual symposium on 11 January 2019.
The yearly meeting aims to strengthen connections between San Francisco Bay Area scientists working on infectious diseases of global health importance and the broader global health research, product development, and advocacy communities.
This year’s symposium addressed three core themes: Molecular Diagnostics, Antibiotic Resistance, and Helminthic Diseases. Ranga Sampath (Chief Scientific Officer at FIND) joined speakers from around the world, including scientists from developing countries.
