Hazardous waste from diagnostic testing

Attached is a great POC digest from ASLM on the current state and potential solutions for hazardous waste created by the testing process.

This is a very important issue and one that does not seem to get much attention.
Here in the Asia-Pacific we have been having discussions about this very issue and developed a specific policy within our STI, HIV, HPV field-based research programs to address this given there are a range of chemicals and other forms of PoC waste to be disposed of, including G-T.
We are now routinely using portable high temp (1000+C) turbo accelerated 200L incinerators in low resource settings which are proving very effective and safe.
