Testing strategies for SARS-CoV-2 are slowly evolving to involve environmental sampling for community surveillance. Despite environmental samples testing positive for SARS-CoV-2, it is till difficult to establish the infectious nature of these samples because of the need of cell culture in high level labs (i.e BSL-3).To circumvent this, we develop a new method of determining infectious SARS-CoV-2 in RT-PCR positive samples devoid of cell culture.
