Being able to differentially diagnose between Yaws and syphilis would be very helpful, especially in the South Pacific (my back yard) where Yaws is endemic.
As can be seen in the article, Yaws prevalence in Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands (both low resource South Pacific countries) is much higher than elsewhere. Vanuatu should be the other country in this region of note and suspect they do not collect prevalence data.
